Pros of Laminate Flooring

When you are ready to make some changes with the flooring in your home, one affordable solution that can resemble some classic favorites like hardwood and tile is laminate flooring. It is made of four layers: the wear (top) layer, the decorative layer, the core layer, and base layer.

The bottom two layers support the flooring while the decorative layer contains the design (i.e. wood floor grains). The wear layer protects the bottom three layers from damage over time. Laminate flooring is excellent for high-traffic areas as well because of its durability and resilience, being nearly immune to scratches and the messes of life.

Laminate floors are as tough as they come. They can last for many years because the top layer uses aluminum oxide which is strong against a lot of the trauma flooring goes through. It's a good idea to install this material in high-traffic areas like a kitchen, or foyer where there are spills and shoe scuffs abound.

Affordable and versatile

Originally made to mimic the beauty of its more expensive counterparts, laminate flooring is a great alternative to hardwoods, bamboo, cork, and tile. It is made of several layers, of which the decorative layer contains the exact image of the flooring that you would like to replicate, meaning you have a choice of many looks.

Easy to clean

Just like other non-carpeted flooring options, laminate is a breeze to keep looking its best. Regular vacuum maintenance can save increase the cleanliness of your floor greatly. Laminate floors do not trap dust or other particles because everything is out in the open, making it ideal for anyone who suffers from indoor allergies.

Water resistant

Because laminate floors do well against moisture, they are great for kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry rooms. You don't need to stress out when you see a spill because you know it will be an easy clean up that won't warp or affect the look of your floor.
